The LUMIX Festival of young Photojournalism, now in its second year, is a biannual festival dedicated to photojournalism.
Chosen from over 1,000 photographers, Lumix Festival has curated 60 exhibitions. These include exhibitions by Amit Madheshiya (2009 Sony World Photography Awards winner, Arts and Entertainment), Davide Monteleone (SWPA 2010 Contemporary Issue, 2nd place), Dominic Nahr (SWPA 2009 Current Affairs, 2nd place), Munem Wasif (SWPA 2008 Photojournalism & Documentary, 3rd place) and Gordon Welters (SWPA 2009, Music 2nd place).
The highlight of each festival day will be the evening lectures of internationally known photographers. Among the speakers is Polish photographer Wojciech Grzedzinski. Only 30 years old, Grzedzinski is the festival’s youngest lecturer, but he has already an impressive career. It was for his images of the Civil War in Georgia that Wojciech won the 2009 Sony World Photography Awards Current Affairs category.
