Bruce Davidson - Outstanding Contribition to Photography

Bruce Davidson is to receive the Outstanding Contribution to Photography Award at this year’s Sony World Photography Awards. He will be honoured at the annual gala award ceremony at the Odeon Leicester Square in London on Wednesday 27 April amongst leading figures of the international photography community. An exhibition of his work will be shown as part of the World Photography Festival at Somerset House in London.

'Tracking the News of the Royal Wedding' for the World Photography Festival was a masterful team effort from participating members of the BPPA (British Press Photographers' Association). We would like to thank Neil Turner, Vice Chairman of the BPPA for his presention on the eve of the wedding discussing the background to the big day and the enormous amount of work and planning that had been done ahead of it.

Sony World Photography Awards - Royal Wedding Activity

To celebrate the Royal Wedding in London, during the World Photography Festival, Sony took to Trafalgar Square with a specially designed Sony World Photography Awards postcard addressed to William and Kate. Members of the public were invited to write a message to the newlywed Royal couple, they then had their photo taken with their message and had it broadcast to the crowd on the big screens in Trafalgar Square.
