We see them wave their arms about and shake their heads, but few spectators know how hard an orchestra conductor has to work during concerts. He is responsible for bringing the composer’s ideas alive. The series ‘Masters of Musical Spheres’ portrays such world figures as Valery Gergiyev, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Vladimir Ashkenazi, and Vladimir Fedoseyev. It is designed to show conductors from an unusual angle, to depict their emotions and the enormous strain they are under in order to unveil the magic of music’s birth.
