São Paulo Portrait Project Winners receive their Sony prizes

Three photographers who participated in our São Paulo Portrait Project workshop at the World Photography Festival in São Paulo have been announced as the winners of the workshop. Congratulations to 1st Place winner Carlos Negrini, 2nd Place winner Jennifer Akemi and 3rd place winner Alessio Ortu.

The photographers attended a prize-giving ceremony on 20th March at MIS (Museu da Imagem e do Som) in Sao Paulo, where the 1st Place winner received a Sony Alpha A55L, 2nd Place received a Sony NEX-3A and 3rd Place received a Sony Cybershot DSC-WX1.

The workshop welcomed photographers of every level; specifically those with a desire to take portraits. Over the course of two and half days, participating photographers learnt how to take better portraits and then were sent on assignments across the streets of São Paulo to capture the many faces that make it such a unique city.

It's kind of weird São Paulo being portrayed almost only through its homeless... I do admire the pictures for they beauty, composition and so, but they don't portray this "unique city".
    Still: congratulations to the winners!
