Unique in its scale and influence, the National & Regional Awards programme celebrates and rewards local photographic talent across the world.
Now in its tenth year, the National Awards has given worldwide exposure and opportunities to more than 550 photographers.
Expert judges uncover the best single images from each of the countries entered into the National & Regional Awards. Winners are given Sony digital imaging equipment as well as global and local exposure.
If your country or region appears on the right-hand side of this page, then any images you submit into the Open competition’s ten categories will be automatically entered.
“I am very happy I won the Germany National Award at the Sony World Photography Awards 2021 with the experimental portrait called Moving Portrait. If pictures act as role models, we, photographers, also shape the view of people with our publications. Through my pictures, I want to show dignity, diversity, perfection and also (supposedly) imperfection in people.”
Astrid Susanna Schulz, Germany, National Award Winner, Sony World Photography Awards 2021
