The National & Regional Awards supports photographers of all abilities around the globe. Selected from entries to the Open competition, the programme showcases local talent on an international stage.
- All images entered into the Open competition by photographers based in countries registered for the National & Regional Awards programme are automatically considered
- All winners receive Sony digital imaging equipment and are included in the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition and book

The National Awards acknowledges photographers holding the nationality and residency of a particular country*, while the Regional Awards spotlight photographers from a specific region.
*Except Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar
