Meet the Team
As founder of the World Photography Organisation, Scott maintains a close involvement in all areas of the organisation and develops the business and new ventures. Scott is based in the London headquarters office.
With a degree in photography from University of Westminster, Ania manages the logistics for all of the World Photography Organisation's international exhibitions and events; Sony World Photography Awards, PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai and PHOTOFAIRS | Francisco.
With a Master's degree in Strategy Marketing and Communication, Faustine joins the World Photography Organisation with 5 years experience in digital marketing. Faustine leads all marketing activity and partnerships for the World Photography Organisation and Sony World Photography Awards.
Jill has worked with the World Photography Organisation since 2009 and oversees the media communications of all the company’s activities across the globe. This includes PHOTOFAIRS and the Sony World Photography Awards, the PR campaign for which annually reaches over 950 million people. Jill has a Masters in Arts Management from Goldsmiths College, University of London and, before joining the World Photography Organisation, worked extensively in art PR on projects both in the UK and around the world.
For the last five years, Giulia has managed a variety of high profile clients and individual projects for both the World Photography Organisation and the Sony World Photography Awards. Giulia helps manage the logistics for all events.
Emma joins WPO from Tate's press team, where she worked on the PR campaign for the opening of Tate Modern’s Switch House and on the publicity for major exhibitions such as Performing for the Camera at Tate Modern. Prior to this she worked with several arts PR agencies on visual arts accounts including Masterpiece London and the Carmignac Photojournalism Award. Emma studied History of Art at University College London followed by a master’s degree and research scholarship at the University of York.
Panos has a diploma in Photography from Middlesex university, he has worked in project management for various online startups in the UK for the past 9 years. He is in charge of all project management on the World Photography Organisation and PHOTOFAIRS websites.
He also manages Student Focus, one of the world’s leading programs for photography students
Matthew oversees World Photography Organisation’s editorial and social media channels. He arrived to us following editorial contributions to Hotshoe Magazine, TAGMAG, and Birdwatching Magazine. He graduated from Falmouth University with a BA in Marine & Natural History Photography in 2013.
Elly graduated in 2014 from Nottingham Trent University with a BA in Photography, she then went on to study a Post Graduate Diploma in Event Management. She began interning at World Photography Organisation and has since moved in a full time position.
Isabelle graduated in 2014 with a BA in History of Art from Bristol University, before starting at The World Photography Organisation. Isabelle enjoys anything designed based and has since retrained in graphic design.
Rita Alvarez Tudela
Rita has worked as a correspondent in the UK for Spanish media since 2015, covering breaking news, social issues and culture. She has a Masters in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism from Westminster University in London and a BA in International Journalism from Nebrija University in Madrid. She was previously based in Beijing for six years working for a variety of news and cultural organisations.
For the last 6 years, Cecily has managed all the World Photography Organisation's international exhibitions and events in leading institutions and galleries across Australia, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Brazil, Mexico, USA, Canada, UK, Germany and France. Cecily was Assistant Director for Art International, Istanbul's leading contemporary Art Fair and directs the annual Sony World Photography Awards exhibition in London.
Prior to her appointment, Georgia was Fair Manager for Art16 in London where she played a vital role in the development of London's global art fair from it's inception in 2013. Georgia was involved in the launch of Art Central Hong Kong working as their International Development Manager bringing in galleries from Europe and North America. Joining the Art Fairs London ltd.
Julia studied Art History and Economics at the University of Basel in Switzerland. During her studies she also worked as a tutor giving weekly classes for introductory seminars in Art History. After graduating, Julia worked at Christie’s, Zurich in the Swiss Art Department for two years before moving to London to join the Art16 team as Gallery Liaison. In September, Julia started her part time MA in Contemporary Art Theory at Goldsmiths, University of London as well as joining the PHOTOFAIRS team.
Peipei Han was appointed Associate Director of the Shanghai edition of PHOTOFAIRS in 2015. Since joining, Ms. Han has been instrumental in positioning the fair as the leading platform for contemporary photography in Asia Pacific. Her role within PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai is hugely diverse, from liaising with key collectors, museums and institutions worldwide to working with major sponsors and securing cutting-edge photographic artworks from the world's leading artists.
Mia is fully-experienced in the aspect of design and luxury industry and she has excellent connections with people in many different backgrounds such as art, design and fashion. Based in shanghai, she is taking care of VIP relationship from the first year of Photofairs.
Prior to joining World Photography Organisation, graduated with the MA in Social Policy from University of York, Yihui has worked in marketing and public relations fields both in Britain and China, mostly for the world's leading châteaux, watch and jewelly brands. She is now working for PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai.
Yang has worked in fields such as curating, public relations and cultural heritage both in Scotland and Shanghai. She finished MSc in History of Art in the University of Edinburgh in 2016. In January, 2017 she joined the team and is now working for PHOTOFAIRS based in Shanghai.
Eden has been working in the marketing and public relations field since graduation. Her career experience varies from art media platform development to commercial exhibition executions, mainly focusing on culture agendas. After collaborating with the fair on different projects for 3 years, Eden joined the PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai team in 2018.
Sarah joined the PHOTOFAIRS | San Francisco team Spring 2016 and comes from the auction world where she worked for Christie’s, Sotheby’s and Phillips since 2001 as a Photographs specialist and member of the Business Development team . Based in San Francisco, she manages partnerships and event initiatives on the West Coast.
The 2019 Sony World Photography Awards is made up of four competitions: PROFESSIONAL, OPEN, YOUTH, and STUDENT.
