With over 600 talented photographers on display, the 2018 Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition will showcase inspiring and thought-provoking images from around the globe. The exhibition will feature the winning, shortlisted and commended images from the record-breaking 2018 edition of the competition. It will also include a room of work by celebrated German artist Candida Höfer, recipient of this year's Outstanding Contribution to Photography prize.

Somerset House is a large Neoclassical building situated on the south side of the Strand in central London, overlooking the River Thames.
Offering a diverse and dynamic public programme of contemporary arts and culture, they are also a home to a large community of creative businesses, artists and makers, including Somerset House Studios. One of the city’s most spectacular and well-loved spaces, Somerset House is a place where art and culture is imagined, made and experienced by over 3 million visitors every year.

Outstanding Contribution to Photography
Featured at this year's exhibition: An exclusive selection of large-scale color work by our renowned Outstanding Contribution to Photography recipient, Candida Höfer.
Candida Höfer is one of the world’s foremost contemporary photographers. Renowned for her precise methodology and technique, Höfer’s internationally recognized work often takes the form of large-format color photography. The exhibition will include three of her most notable large-scale pieces: Musée du Louvre Paris XXI 2005; Hermitage St. Petersburg VIII 2014 and Trinity College Library Dublin I 2004. These are on loan from Ben Brown Fine Arts, London.

Please note, press tickets are not available for the last weekend of the exhibition, and presentation of a press card on arrival will not gain you admittance.
