For Halloween, we take a look back over the last 3 years of the Sony World Photography Awards to find the most nightmarish, blood-curdling images to scare and delight.
This year's Open competition has 10 categories, from Architecture and Landscape to Still Life and Street Photography, with the judges looking to award the best single images.
In addition to the main prize of $5k, the winning and shortlisted photographers will be included in a global press campaign, featured across the World Photography Organisation website and exhibited at Somerset House, London in Spring 2018.
