EUROPEAN STUDENT AWARD
Set up by Creo and Sony Europe, the European Student Award celebrates emerging talent and the unique perspectives of those undertaking a photography programme*.
The winner and shortlist win a variety of prizes, including a showcase of their projects at the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition in London's Somerset House, a day of tailored workshops with industry experts to help progress their career, flights and accommodation to London for the Awards night and Sony Digital Imaging equipment.

A brand-new initiative spotlighting five exceptional German students entering the 2027 Student Competition. If selected, your work will feature in the annual Sony World Photography Awards exhibition at Berlin's iconic Willy-Brandt-Haus in autumn 2027. You will be invited to attend the exhibition and take part in an industry workshop designed to help advance your career.*****

*A programme refers to a formalised photography course/credit/module/foundation which is taught at higher education level, within a diploma / Bachelor of Arts / Master of Arts curriculum.
**Please note: to be considered for the European Student Award, participants must have the nationality of one of the following European countries and reside in any of these during the period of the award (June 2026 - November 2026): UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Turkey, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Greece, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania & Moldova.

**** Please note, your image may be displayed digitally (on screens) or printed.
***** Travel expenses for one (1) guest and one (1) university representative accompanying each of the five (5) selected ESA Germany Entrants will be covered up to a maximum of €250 per person, subject to the submission of valid receipts.
