The shortlisted (top 10) and commended (top 50) photographers for all categories of the 2017 Sony World Photography Awards have been announced today.

In this ongoing project, Emily Schiffer combines imagestaken of her family over the past eight years to form new narratives about intimacy and silence, youth and aging, unresolved relationships, and love.

"This is a study of the lidos that have disappeared entirely, survived or were left bereft to decay over time. The ones that have survived have benefited from renewed interest and investment, undergoing redevelopment and are now thriving."
