Shortlist now revealed!
To celebrate the dynamic and inspiring photographic work currently created in Latin America, the World Photography Organisation and Sony Latin America launched the Latin America Professional Award. The prize was open to all photographers from Latin American countries entering bodies of work (five to ten images) to the 2020 Sony World Photography Awards’ Professional competition. The Latin American Professional Award is chosen from the 2020 entries to the Sony World Photography Awards by an expert committee from the World Photography Organisation. The winning photographer will receive digital equipment from Sony and their work will be shown in an extensive exhibition in 2020 celebrating Latin American photographers affiliated with the Sony World Photography Awards. The committee will also choose an extensive list of finalists that will be announced in March 2020.
How to enter
All photographers from Latin American countries entering bodies of work (five to ten images) to any of the ten categories in the Sony World Photography Awards’ Professional competition will be considered for the Latin America Professional Award.
Please note: to be considered for the Latin America Professional Award, participants must have the nationality of one of the following Latin American countries and reside in any of these during the period of the award (June 1, 2019 - April 2020) Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela.
