2nd Place - Argentina: Romina Ressia, Venus
Botticelli painted Venus in the 15th century. In the painting there is a blonde woman with long hair, staying nude and covering her intimate parts with her hands. It’s been a representation of the ideal beauty and also an expression of freedom as it was the first time in arts a woman was showing nude without any catholic meaning.
This series was based on the derivative painting (version of Venus with black background) and inspired by women in contemporary society. However, six centuries before the original painting was created, the full images can not be showed on social networks.
