Latin America Professional Award

Set up to celebrate dynamic and inspiring photographic work currently created in Latin America.  The Latin America Professional Award was created by the World Photography Organisation and Sony Latin America.
 

  • Open to all photographers from specific Latin American countries* entering the Professional competition
  • Rewards a shortlist of photographers, including first, second and third place winners
  • Photographers receive Sony Digital Imaging equipment and exposure through a local regional exhibition within Latin America
  • Please see 'Rules' on the Professional competition page for full image eligibility criteria
  • Deadline is January 13, 2026 at 13.00 GMT
  • With thousands of people across the planet viewing the successful projects, the aim is for these photographers to benefit from publishing deals, gallery representation and international coverage.

 

*Please note: to be considered for the Latin America Professional Award, participants must have the nationality of one of the following Latin American countries and reside in any of these during the period of the award (June 2025 - January 2026): Argentina, Brazil , Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Uruguay and Peru.

How to enter

All photographers from Latin American countries* entering bodies of work (five to ten images) to any of the ten categories in the Sony World Photography Awards’ Professional competition will be considered for the Latin America Professional Award. 

*Please note: to be considered for the Latin America Professional Award, participants must have the nationality of one of the following Latin American countries and reside in any of these during the period of the award (June 1, 2025 - January 2026) Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru.
