Susie Linfield directs the Cultural Reporting and Criticism program at New York University. Her articles and essays on politics and culture have appeared in a wide variety of publications, including the "New York Times," the "Washington Post Book World," "Bookforum," the "Nation," the "Boston Review," and "Dissent." For six years, she was a contributing writer to the "Los Angeles Times Book Review." Her book "The Cruel Radiance: Photography and Political Violence" (University of Chicago Press) will be published this fall.
