Kald Sòl (Cold Sun)
Thomas Meurot
Series description

Kald Sòl is a series I undertook while documenting a surf expedition in Iceland in the middle of winter, which resulted in my first documentary, with the same name. Documenting cold surfing has always appealed to me, so when I got the chance to do it, I jumped at the opportunity straight away. The black-and-white photographs reveal the cold, even when the sun is out.

Biography

Photography entered my life quite young. When I was little, whenever I went on vacation, I brought a disposable camera with me. And it was when I was 20 that I discovered that I could do something artistic with it, and so I learned to shoot professionally. I've been shooting with Sony for 8 years now, mainly surfing, but also everything related to nature and outdoor sports.
