NATIONAL AND REGIONAL AWARDS
The National and Regional Awards is a programme within the Sony World Photography Awards set up to support local photographic communities around the world. Each participating country or region selects photographers from a competition of their choice in the Sony World Photography Awards.
The recognised photographers receive a range of career-defining prizes, particular to their specific country or region. The Awards acknowledge photographers holding the nationality of a particular country or region*.

REWARDING STRIKING IMAGES
The National and Regional Awards in the Open competition place local talent on a global stage and celebrate visual storytelling in a single frame by photographers from across the world.
All winners receive a range of prizes, including Sony Digital Imaging equipment, depending on their country or region.

NURTURING FUTURE TALENT
EUROPEAN STUDENT AWARD
Set up by Creo and Sony Europe, the European Student Award helps to kickstart the careers of those undertaking a photography programme.
The winner and shortlisted photographers get to showcase their work in the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition and are invited to London for the Awards ceremony. They also benefit from a day of tailored workshops with industry experts and receive Sony Digital Imaging equipment.
