Paraxes by Alejandro Fernández-Llamazares Vidal
Taking its name from the Galician word, paraxe (‘place where a certain means of public transport stops’), this photographic series sets out to not only document the ephemeral beauty of abandoned bus stops in the Galicia region of Spain, but also to encourage reflection on rural abandonment, the loss of community connection and the transitory nature of human civilisation. Viewers are invited to contemplate the beauty in decay and to reflect on the inevitable transformation of our built environment.
