Shadowland, After the Gold Rush
Peter Franck
Series description

Peter Franck’s scenes are quiet, like the stillness of a summer night or the eerie calm under a winter moon. The streets become stages where protagonists might appear, but under the strict rules of photography – shutter speed dictated by moonlight, no flash – they remain phantoms. Light and shadow weave them into a fleeting dance, never fully formed, always on the verge of being. There is no resolution, just fragments – ghosts lingering in spaces between the past and future, waiting to be remembered, waiting to be found.

Almost Malevich
The images that emerge in Peter Franck’s work ask what will endure of us – what echoes will remain from this brief existence. The answer is stark yet profound: light and shadow. Light, fragile and fleeting, breaks across silent shadows that stretch like memories, witnessing time’s passage. In their interplay lies the essence of the stories told here, simple yet as inevitable as the Earth's turning.
