A Wolf Comes Back to Life

Series description

This one-year-old male wolf, identified with the file name GW2937m, was hit by a car when he was crossing the A12 between Duiven and Zevenaar in the Netherlands. Although the animal survived the immediate accident, it was so badly injured that it had to be euthanised. It was then given to a taxidermist, Sita van Hoorn, to prepare for the Museum De Bastei in Nijmegen.

Biography

Documentary photographer, graduated from the Dutch School for Photography Amsterdam and Boxtel. Van Uitert made both a wide range of features in Afghanistan, embedded as unembedded, as in Iraq, Syria, Gaza, West Bank, El Salvador, Balkan, Kiev/Ukraine, Bangladesh, Rwanda, Russia, the Turkish-Syrian border, Lebanon, Africa. From 2019 till now she is making a photographic documentary on the wolf.
