A Different Kind of National Sport
Yi Xiao
Series description

A Different Kind of National Sport stems from the photographer’s longstanding love for table tennis. To showcase the popularity of the sport in China, he looked beyond professional arenas, venturing into remote villages and other areas where there might not be a standard table tennis table, but the game is still played. These scenes illustrate the unique charm of table tennis, and show how a match can always begin, regardless of location, age or gender. All you need is a ball and a paddle.
