The 2019 Sony World Photography Awards is open for entries! That means you have the chance to one of our coveted monthly winners. As always, the competitions are free to enter for all photographers.
How it works
Each week, our editors will be choosing their favourite entries from the Open competition, which will be showcased on our blog every Monday from June 11, 2018. They will then choose who will be crowned the monthly winners (June - January), taken from the entries of the previous month.
Each monthly winner will receive...
- The Official 2018 Book (worth £39.98)
- A blog feature showcasing their best work
- A 20 Image Bundle (to enter more images into the Open competition)
Entries should be made through the Open competition of the 2019 Sony World Photography Awards. Ensure to read through the rules of the Open competition before entering.

A 20 Image Bundle (to enter more images into the Open competition)
The Book will be sent out within 3 days of receiving the full contact details (name and address) from the monthly winners. Delivery time will vary depending on the location of each winner.
The Blog feature will go live on the https://www.worldphoto.org/blog site by the middle of each month. Time of publication will vary depending on the speed of contact between the winners and WPO Digital Content Editor.
The 20 Image Bundle will be credited to the accounts of the monthly winners as soon as World Photography Organisation staff receive confirmation of the full contact details from the winner by email.
Each week, WPO’s Digital Content Editor & Marketing & Communications Manager will be choosing their favourite entries from the Open competition, which will be showcased on our blog every Monday as the “weekly picks”. They will then choose the images to be crowned the monthly winners (June 2018 to January 2019 ), taken from the entries of the previous month.
Notification of winners:
Winners picked, notified and asked to conduct an interview featuring their work on the first Monday of each month, unless it falls on a bank holiday.
In the event that we wish to contact you in connection with your entry we will do so via an email ending in ‘worldphoto.org’
The promoter reserves the right to disqualify late, misdirected, incomplete, corrupted, lost, illegible or invalid entries.
If we require a response before we award any prize and no response is received after we have made reasonable efforts to make contact, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw prize entitlement and award the prize to someone else.
No cash or other alternative prizes are available. Prizes cannot be transferred or sold by winners.
The Promoter has arranged the Promotion in good faith but, to the fullest extent allowed by law, accepts no responsibility for loss or damages as a result of anyone participating in the Promotion or any aspect of any prize awarded. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
The Promoter reserves the right to modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the promotion or extend or resume the entry period or disqualify any participant at any time without giving advance notice and will do so if it cannot be guaranteed that the promotion can be carried out fairly or correctly for technical, legal or other reasons or if the Promoter suspects that any person has been manipulating entries or the results or has acted unethically in any other way.
The winner agrees to take part in publicity in connection with the prize draw. This includes on social media channels, e.g. Facebook, Twitter to help promote the interview featuring their work (chosen by WPO Digital Content Editor).
The promoter reserves the right to alter, amend or foreclose the promotion without prior notice.
By entering this prize draw, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
The Promoter’s decision is final and we reserve the right not to correspond on any matter.
The laws of England apply and any disputes will be dealt with in the English courts only.
