Welcome to our weekly selection of the best entries to the Open competition of the 2018 Sony World Photography Awards. If your image is showcased below, you’ve been chosen by our editors as among the best entries so far!

At the end of each month, we'll choose a monthly winner to be awarded a blog feature, a 20 Image Bundle (worth £39.95, meaning more entries to the competition) and a copy of the official 2017 Sony World Photography Awards book.
