Landscape Shortlist

Hidden Dimension is a photo series captured at an altitude of about 300-400 metres. A bird’s eye view that inspires me every time I take off and climb into the Latvian airspace with the pilot of an ultralight plane. The lines and shapes, natural and human-made structures, tell me something in a graphical language. I’m trying to learn this language and discover these hidden stories. My creative passion is aerial photography.

I was born in Cesis, Latvia in 1958,got passion in photography 1982. From 2013 Im specialised in prof. aerial photography, 2012 Ive won the Annual Design Award 2012 (Latvia). In 2014 my artwork has been nominated in SWPA 2014 in category "Travel", another one commended. I 'codify' a hidden story based on my internal sensitivity and imagination. My ideas for creative compositions come ‘on the spot’ once I’m in the air and seeing from above interesting structures on the ground.
