Still Life Shortlist

A collection of motherboards extracted from defunct personal computers. I am interested in the resonance of memories that have passed through these objects, which have now evolved into 21st Century uninterpretable hieroglyphics. They were photographed using paper negatives on a 10x8 Deardorf camera to emphasise the otherworldliness of the objects.

Alun Crockford (b.1961, Tenby, Wales) After leaving Swansea College of Art he worked as an assistant photographer in London before opening his own studio in 1986. In 2011 he gained his MA ( Merit, De Montfort University) for his work on the connections between objects and the person. He now divides his time between the worlds of art and commerce working primarily with large-format analogue photography.
