The Sustainability Prize was set up to reward photographers passionate about communicating the planet’s biggest challenges.

  • Open to all photographers entering the Professional competition entering environment-focused works
  • First place receives $5,000 (USD), inclusion in the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition and book and flights and accommodation to the awards ceremony in London
  • Please see 'Rules' on the Professional competition page for full image eligibility criteria
  • Deadline is January 13, 2024 at 13.00 GMT

This prize recognises the stories, people and organisations whose actions highlight one of the United Nation’s environmental Sustainable Development Goals. These can include depictions of climate change, a spotlight on ecological technologies and innovations, or a celebration of individuals and groups working to make a difference.

The Sustainability Prize is part of Creators for the Planet, a global year-round engagement programme set by Creo and developed in collaboration with the United Nations Foundation and Sony Pictures. Read more here.
