Caught at the Right Moment: Entries of the Week
Sometimes a photograph comes together because everything happens at exactly the right moment. A person walks into a patch of light, a wave breaks against the rocks, clouds briefly reveal a landscape, or an animal stays still just long enough for the picture to be made.
This week’s Entries of the Week brings together ten very different examples. We move from surfers at Famara Beach and the streets of Hong Kong to a frozen river in Sweden, sulfur miners working inside an Indonesian volcano, and wildlife photographed after dark.
There are carefully constructed photographs here too, alongside images that rely on observation, patience and being ready when something unexpected happens. What connects them is less a particular style than the photographer’s decision about where to stand, what to include and when to press the shutter.
