In 2006, Markus van Hauten visited Iceland with his wife and bought a digital SLR camera in advance. He has had a basic interest in photography for a long time, but he had never become active before. Markus' interest was aroused with this holiday in Iceland and from then on he steadily professionalized his hobby. Via detours in sports and animal photography, an increased interest in landscape photography arose in 2013 through stays in the Alps. Iceland, mountain regions and coasts in particular are his favorites. Being able to enjoy the fantastic sunrises, special weather moods in the middle of nature with the camera is always a special contrast to his everyday life. These are moments when Markus recharges his batteries. The result is often images that stay in his head forever. In recent years, Markus' pictures have won several national and international awards, including a category win at the renowned "Sony World Photography Awards" in 2016.
