2010 Sony World Photography Awards - Winner, Natural History, Professional Competition
Born in Vilafranca del Penedès in 1964, Pere Pascual's love of photography goes back to 18 years ago when he bought his first camera. He started to take photographs of his environment, everything around him. In 1990, he became a student and started using professional lighting and large format camera. He started working in advertising and industrial photography. Gradually, he drifted to travel documentary, anthropological and food photography. His collaborated with magasines such as; Descobrir Catalunya, Altair, Peninsula, El Mundo de los Pirineos, Conde Nast Traveler, Travel National Geographic.
His work has been published in newspaper in El Pais, El Periodico. Makes the coverage of UNESCO in the Forum of Cultures in Barcelona. Co-author of several books Masias de Cataluña, Casas de Indianos, El Romanico Catalan. His work was displayed in several exhibitions suchas an exhibition at the Palau Robert in Barcelona in November 2004, Firart exhibition in 2009, Vilafranca del Penedès Awards (honorary award), El México de los Mexicanos, México D.F. 2009, Winner of the Sony World Photography Awards - Natural History, in 2010, Firart exhibition in 2010, Vilafranca del Penedes Exposición Photokina 2010. He is currently working on a report about the indigenous cultures in Mexico.
