With the launch of the 2018 #SWPA, the best entries of the week is back. This year, you have a chance to win monthly prizes.

Welcome to our first weekly picks of the best entries to the Open competition of the 2018 Sony World Photography Awards. If your image is chosen below, congratulations, you’ve been chosen by our editors as among the best entries so far.

At the end of each month we’ll choose a monthly winner (from June - December) to be awarded with a blog feature, a 20 Image Bundle (worth £39.95, meaning more entries to the competition) plus you’ll be sent a copy of the official 2017 Sony World Photography Awards book.
