Pinglin, a Taipei suburb area, closed off river fishing a few years ago. The rehabilitation is successful, the fish and shrimps come back. In springtime, the herons gather here again as a result, mate, nest and then raise their younglings. These pictures focus on the peculiar feather patterns and behaviour of the little egret during these cycles.
