#SWPA showcase: shooting on film

The quality that can be achieved when shooting with a film camera has made it a timeless tool for photographers worldwide, despite the impressive digital cameras now available. Be it 35mm, medium or large format, the different sizes lend themselves to particular subjects - and can really add power to your subject. At the Sony World Photography Awards we welcome all types of genres, techniques and styles of imagery and have received over the past 16 years a wealth of excellent entries taken on analogue cameras. Here we take a look at some of the most memorable images from the 2022 Awards that were created on film.
